Janet E. Spirer

Janet's career has followed two different, yet complimentary paths. First, as a Professor in the School of Business at Marymount University she taught marketing, sales, and business strategy courses in the MBA program. She also managed a consulting practice focusing on sales and marketing – working with a variety of clients ranging from Xerox to IBM. Since founding Sales Momentum®, Janet has worked with clients such as: UPS, Boston Scientific, Textron, The Center for Creative Leadership, The Washington Post, and RR Donnelley.

Janet develops long-term relationships with her clients, allowing her to develop the depth of knowledge required to play a pivotal role on key client initiatives. For example, Janet completed numerous projects for GE Information Services' Sales and Marketing groups spanning 15-years. The projects included: training the sales force to sell new products, developing sales training for the sales force, and building business acumen into the sales process. In addition, Janet worked extensively with Marketing staff.

Pursuing both a consulting and an academic career has provided Janet with a unique perspective – keeping up-to-date with current thinking in the field, as well as, seeing these ideas implemented in the market place. Janet translated her experiences into a book – Parlez-Vous Business – that helps sales people develop the business savvy to win in today's marketplace.

Dr. Spirer received her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, an M.P.A. from The University of Texas at Austin, and a B.A. in Economics from Brooklyn College – The City University of New York. She holds the status of Professor Emeritus at Marymount University.
